Petrol colored cushions

At Agatha Amsterdam we prefer to work with natural materials and colors for the interior, in order to create a harmonious atmosphere. Many people have the impression that it is about neutral colors, but that is of course not necessary! We like to keep the base soft, where you can then work with color accents to add a certain experience. One of the easiest ways to achieve that is with pillows. Our favorite are certainly our petrol-colored cushions, which automatically give a contemporary look to the room. This color can also be combined very well with other vibrant colors, and the choice of materials makes it complete.

What can I combine petrol colored pillows well with?

If you would like to use petrol-colored pillows in a room, you will soon notice that a few colors go together less well because petrol is not a bright, but a distinct color. For example, black can look very chic, but don't use too much of it, otherwise it will quickly become gloomy and you don't want that.

In terms of natural materials, the petrol colored cushions are really ideal: they go great with both light and dark wood, so your petrol cushion will fit perfectly on a wooden bench, for example. At Agatha Amsterdam there is a lot of choice when it comes to the petrol color cushion: we have solid, but also the most fantastic patterns that are incorporated in the cushion. In addition, a number of pillows have a neutral and a motif side, so that you can vary even more.

How do I maintain my pillows?

Our cushions are made of 100% cotton, you can wash the covers at 30 degrees, including our petrol colored cushions.

Which natural materials do we use for the interior?

Agatha Amsterdam preferably uses natural materials for the interior decor but what materials exactly? If you have already taken a look at our website, then you must have seen that Agatha Amsterdam originated from a passion for knitting, in combination with the love for our roots in Portugal. We started to make trials with cotton and with wool, both are our absolute favorite to work with: wool is one of the most versatile materials that are available, and there is no need for animals to suffer: on the contrary we would say. When it comes to natural materials for the interior products, we chose to work with cotton. 

What can I combine these natural materials with?

If you go for the natural look in your living room, go in terms of material for wood, wool and reed. And if you think earth tones are boring and old fashioned, then you are mistaken. We get our inspiration example from the south of Portugal, of the sun-bleached colors. If you choose furniture made of wood, you can easily combine it with light earth tones such as off-white, beige, sand. But you can use a beautiful ocher or coral  against it to create an accent. Then boring is not in the picture, but the natural materials also ensure a perfect look in your interior.

How can I get inspiration?

The answer to that question is simple: walk through the spaces of Agatha Amsterdam, and see what you can do with natural materials.

Decorative cushion covers. You have pillows and cushions, and then you have decorative cushions. The word says it all: these cushions are for decoration. If you have ever watched a design show, you know that every interior is finished with styling, which is often synonymous with cushions; decorative cushions.
