My Journey
My name is Daniela. I was born and raised in Porto, but left it in my 20s to work as a fashion designer in Germany and Holland. A few years ago I came back home and started Agatha.
I’ve loved knitting ever since I was a child. I spent hours watching my grandma, a skilled and creative knitter, and learning her craft. With Agatha I feel like I went back to the origin of my passion.
The essence of Agatha
Agatha focuses on a curated selection of knitted and woven home textiles. I design and develop all the pieces in my Porto studio drawing inspiration from my Portuguese heritage and blending it with a bolder, more graphic and modern aesthetic. Our collection currently includes blankets, cushion covers, kitchen textiles and we recently introduced a mini capsule of summer towels.
Living in proximity to the ‘textile heart’ of Portugal means I’ve formed close connections with specialised Portuguese factories and that enables me to bring my vision to life, one small batch at a time.
Our name
Every knitter has a cat (or at least some do)! Agatha was always around me cuddling or playing with the yarns while I was knitting. I named my brand after her so I can keep these beautiful memories alive.
